Apple cider vinegar is considered to be a miracle food that has been used as a popular natural remedy for various health conditions, including psoriasis, obesity, high blood pressure, acid reflux, diabetes, headaches, and gout.
How It Works Against Gout
Gout is a simple form of arthritis that occurs when uric acid builds up in the body and then crystallizes in the joints. It causes sudden attacks of pain, redness, and tenderness in the affected joints. The use of apple cider vinegar is just one of the many alternative treatments that can potentially help reduce the likelihood of these future attacks without burdening us with unnecessary side effects.
Apple cider vinegar contains malic acid which helps in breaking down and removing uric acid from the body. Aside from this, it also helps in reducing the swelling and pain caused by gout.
In a 2016 review, results revealed that drinking 15 ml of vinegar, which contains 750 milligrams (mg) of acetic acid, each day could help improve some conditions that are risk factors for gout, such as obesity and high blood pressure.

Drinking It
If you decide to take apple cider vinegar internally, you need to dilute one teaspoon of it in a glass of warm water. It is recommended to drink the mixture 2 times a day to achieve the best results. This mixture has a bitter taste that’s why it would be better if we add a little honey on it. Aside from this, apple cider vinegar can also be mix with oil and use it as a salad dressing.
Apply It Topically
In addition to taking the vinegar internally, we can also directly apply it on the affected joints. Doing this will help us get better and faster relief from gout. To do this, we simply need to take a dry and clean cloth and dip it in pure apple cider vinegar. Use the cloth in wrapping the affected body joint and keep it on overnight to soothe the pain. Repeat this process every other day.
