  1. 2 bitter melon
  2. 1/2 teaspoon of salt or juice from half a lemon
  3. half a cup apple or pear juice


Preparation:

Peel the bitter melon and slice from the center. Scoop out the white flesh and the seeds of the vegetable and cut them into tiny chunks. Soak the pieces in cold water for about 30 minutes. Add bitter melon pieces to a juicer and add half teaspoon salt and lemon juice. Blend the ingredients well. Add some honey or jaggery or sweet fruits like pears and apples to reduce its bitterness. Moreover, a pinch of black pepper and ginger can also help decrease the tartness and make the drink more palatable.
