Getting Rid Of Ringworm, The Natural Way

Ringworm, also known as Dermatophytosis, causes red, ring-shaped patches on the skin which can show up anywhere on the body. This contagious fungal infection can actually be treated with some natural ingredients that possess powerful healing properties.

Lemongrass Tea

Lemongrass tea has antifungal properties that can be helpful in treating skin infections like ringworm. For this remedy, we simply need to apply a brewed tea bag directly to the ringworm.

Turmeric

Turmeric is renowned for its antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory effects that can help get rid of stubborn ringworm.

To use this as a remedy, we need to create a paste using a small amount of water and turmeric powder. Apply the mixture on the skin and leave until it dries. We can also have turmeric tea or turmeric water for more benefits.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree essential oil is one of the top essential oil for fighting ringworm. This oil possesses antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral effects.

Simply dab some pure tea tree essential oil on a cotton ball and apply to the affected area or we can also combine it with an antifungal carrier oil like coconut oil. Do these two to three times daily until positive results are obtained.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Being loaded with natural acids and probiotics, apple cider vinegar has been found to help fight fungal infections.

Gently dab the ringworm with a cotton ball saturated (but not dripping) with apple cider vinegar. Do this two to three times daily until the ringworm clears up.

Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is comprise of magnesium and sulphate. It works great at removing any moisture that the fungus might be thriving on while at the same time treating the infection.

Mix about ¼ cup Epsom salt with a cup of warm water. Apply the mixture regularly and generously to a great natural exfoliant and antifungal treatment.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has been known for its antibacterial, antiseptic, and healing properties that are supported by studies.  This succulent store all of its goodness in its leaves.  Just break off a piece of a leaf and rub it on the fungus.

Garlic

This spice is one of the common remedy for treating infections. It can be effective against ringworm, as well as against Trichophyton, Torulopsis, Candida, and Cryptococcus.

To use garlic as a treatment, make a paste by blending crushed garlic cloves with some olive or coconut oil. Apply a thin layer of the paste to the affected skin using a cotton ball or a clean piece of clothing and cover with gauze. Leave in place for up to 2 hours before rinsing. Repeat twice daily until symptoms resolve.
