Several Must-Try DIY Foot Soak

A long and tiring day calls for an at-home foot soak. It can help pamper our feet, ger rid of harmful chemicals and toxins, relieve muscle and mental tension, alleviate stress, and increase white blood cell activity which in return, boosts our immune system for us to able to prevent sickness and increase our overall health and well-being.

All-Purpose Foot Detox Bath

For a soothing foot bath recipe we can pour a gallon of water into a basin, and then add 1 cup lemon juice, 1 tablespoon olive oil, and ¼ cup milk. Mix the ingredients thoroughly and stick the feet in it. Present in the lemon juice is potent antioxidants that can help us relax while the oil and milk’s protein hydrates and nourishes.

The Vinegar Soak

This foot soak simply requires us to add one cup of apple cider vinegar in a foot tub full of hot water and soak for at least 20 minutes. Once done, don’t rinse. Simply pat the feet dry.

Foot Bath Massage

This foot bath is almost as good as the day spa. For this, we need to take a plastic basin and fill it with warm to hot water (depending on our preference). Add 5–10 drops of essential oils like eucalyptus, lavender, or peppermint and stir in ½ cup Epsom salts. Stick the feet in the basin and relax. Soak the feet for 20-40 minutes for a hassle-free yet effective foot soak. For an additional benefit, we can also add a few handfuls of marbles to the bottom of the basin and rub the feet on it for a gentle and relaxing massage.

The Clay Bath

With this clay bath, we need to have 2 tbsp of bentonite clay, a special clay composed of aged volcanic ash that acts as a natural cleaner.

First, we will be dissolving ½ cup of Epsom salt in a tub with hot water and then set it aside. Mix the clay with 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, and a little bit of water until a slightly thick consistency is achieved. Coat the feet with this mixture for at least 10 minutes or until it’s completely dried. Once it’s dry, add about 10 drops of essential oils to the tub with hot water and then submerge the feet until the clay dissolves. Soak them for about 15 minutes, and then use an exfoliating brush, pumice stone, or washcloth to gently remove any remaining clay as well as to exfoliate dead skin. Rinse and pat dry.

Invigorating Foot Soak

This foot soak can help stimulate circulation, ease tension, relieve stagnation, and bring the body into balance.

Simply add ½ cup ground or freshly grated ginger to a bowl of boiling water and slowly add it to a tub of hot water. Combine 5–20 drops essential oil of choice (such as lemon, lemongrass, or clary sage) and 6 tsp. carrier oil before adding them to the tub. Soak the feet and relax.
