Help Attain A Flawless And Smooth Skin With These Kitchen Ingredients

Want to achieve clear and flawless skin? Well, ladies, we all know that it needs a lot of work – from choosing the right cleanser and moisturizer to knowing the perfect time to exfoliate. What’s more? It can be costly.

Luckily, there are certain ingredients in our fridge that can make a perfect face mask. Making our own face-mask will not only enable us to save money but also assure us of the glowing effects from the outside.

Here are some of the common ingredients present in our kitchen that will help us get fresh looking skin.

Bananas

For those having mild to moderate acne, incorporating a banana mask in regular routine might help. Simply mash 1 banana and mix ½ teaspoon each of baking soda and turmeric powder.

Bananas are loaded with vitamin A that helps promote skin cell turnover and cleans pores. Meanwhile, baking soda absorbs excess oil from the skin and turmeric powder fights off acne-causing bacteria.

Oatmeal

Oats possess skin-soothing properties and are often used to treat various skin problems including eczema, chickenpox, and rashes. Honey is naturally antibacterial, great for acne treatment and prevention and for slowing down aging while yogurt contains lactic acid, which is great for reducing wrinkles and lines.

Make this mask by mixing 1 tablespoon each of old-fashioned oats, plain yogurt, and organic raw honey.

Turmeric

Since turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties, it can be great for reducing swelling and redness in the face as well as in exfoliating, fighting off wrinkles, and diminishing acne.

Mix together 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric, 2 teaspoons of ground oats, and 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt. Apply the mask on the face and let it dry for about 20 minutes. Wash off the mask.

Cucumber

This mask is cooling, helps reduce redness, and of course, smells good. Applying this will exfoliate the skin gently and leave it softer even after just one use.

Cucumber mask will require us to mix 1/2 cucumber (pureed in a food processor), 1/4 cup milk,1 tablespoon honey, and 1 tablespoon brown sugar.

Coffee and Brown Sugar

Both coffee and sugar act as natural exfoliants that help remove dead tissues, thus brightening up the skin.

Coffee works great as a facial scrub and is packed with antioxidants that are good for the skin. The coconut oil soothes and protects the skin from aging.

Simply mix 1 tablespoon each of fresh coffee grinds, brown sugar, and organic coconut oil.

Avocado

Avocado contains omega-3 fatty acids that help with dry skin. It can make the skin insanely smooth and hydrated.

Blend 1 avocado, 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil together for a minute. Apply the cream evenly and let it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
