Four Thieves Vinegar: A Tonic That Benefits The Body

Four thieves vinegar has a long history of use. Some call it vinegar of the four thieves, thieves vinegar, or forthave’s vinegar. The base of this health tonic is Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV).

In the natural health community, ACV is the most popular type of vinegar. Science has supported its numerous health benefits which include its ability to help kill harmful bacteria or prevent them from multiplying, boosting the immune system, improving insulin sensitivity and helping lower blood sugar responses after meals, aiding in weight loss, improving heart health, and protecting the body against cancer.

Here are some of the known benefits of this vinegar:

For Illness

Simply take a mixture of 1-2 tablespoons of the tonic and a tablespoon of honey several times a day.

For A Stable Blood Sugar Level

Since apple cider has strong anti glycemic properties, it can help block some of the digestion of starch thus preventing our blood sugar levels from rising. Enjoy this benefit by taking 1 tbsp of this tonic before a heavy carbohydrate meal.

Fight Nail Or Foot Fungus

Mix ½ cup of Four thieves vinegar in a small foot tub of room temperature water. Soak the feet in it for 15 minutes 3 times daily. Dry the feet after soaking and dab a few drops of the vinegar on the affected area.

For Immunity Boosting

Consume 1 tbsp of this tonic every morning after brushing the teeth. Doing this will keep our immune system strong and healthy during seasonal transitions.

For Improved Absorption Of Nutrients

When making salad dressing, it is recommended to add 1 tbsp of vinegar of four thieves in order to increase the body’s absorption of the important minerals from the food.
