Results of the study which was published in Phytomedicine showed that Eulophia macrobulbon has phytochemicals with antioxidant properties and can protect the body against inflammation since it was able to reduce the production of pro-inflammatory proteins like tumor necrosis factor alpha and interleukin-6 while increasing anti-inflammatory markers based on inflammation-induced cell models. Moreover, E. macrobulbon also showed “notable cytotoxic effects” against breast cancer, cervical cancer, and colorectal cancer.

In their report, the researchers concluded that:

“Based on this data, EME provides various beneficial anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and cytotoxic attributes and may be used as a herbal remedy in the pharmaceutical or food industries.”
