Helpful Tips To Control Oily Skin

An oily skin can clog pores and increase acne breakouts. This type of skin needs special attention because the wrong ingredients or habits might just worsen the condition.

To Help Control Oily Skin, The Following Tips Should Be Followed:

Wipe Your Face With A Cleansing Oil

Cleansing oil is a staple in Korean skincare. It helps breakdown dirt, sebum, and makeup while adding moisture. Some of the oils you can use are coconut oil, argan oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, and grapeseed oil. These oils are essential in controlling excess sebum and keeping the skin’s oil levels balanced.

Wash Your Face Every Morning, Evening, And After Sweating

Limit washing your face to only twice a day and after sweating. Scrubbing your face several times a day will only irritate your skin and strip away natural oils and some sebum, which are also needed for healthy skin.

Cleanse your skin after using cleansing oil. Doing this will help get rid of any excess oil. As much as possible, avoid using a product with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid since they are quite drying the skin.

Don’t Sleep In Your Makeup

Always remove all makeup before going to sleep.

Use A Face Mask 2–3 Times A Week

Treating your skin to a face mask 2-3 times per week will help unclog pores and remove accumulated oil and dirt.

Make sure that you use a mask with oil-absorbing ingredients and features hyaluronic acid or alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) in order to handle excess sebum.

Here are some of the ingredients you can include in your face masks

· Egg whites and lemon:

The combination of lemon and egg whites can help tighten skin pores. To make a mask, simply combine 1 egg white with 1 teaspoon freshly-squeezed lemon juice and use it as a mask.

· Papaya:

Papaya will help you fight both oil and bacteria, thus giving you a naturally glowing skin. All you have to do is to mash up fresh fruit and use as a mask or cleanser.

Do Apply Moisturizer Daily

Always bear in mind that even oily skin needs a moisturizer to keep it hydrated otherwise dryness will make the sebaceous glands work even harder. Look for a moisturizer that contains a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher in order to save time and protect your skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays.

Use A Green Tea Toner

Opt for toners that contain green tea. Green tea has polyphenols that help control sebum, inflammation, and bacteria. You can also just steep green tea leaves in warm water then pour the tea into a spray bottle, and regularly spritz the solution on your face after cleansing.

Eat Clean

A diet high in greasy fast food can worsen oily skin. Consume more fruits, dark, and leafy vegetables, whole grains, and nuts in order to attain the nutrients needed by the skin.

Add Honey To Your Skincare Routine

Honey hydrates the skin, reduces oil, and kills acne-causing bacteria. You may add it on your face masks.

Exfoliate With Ground Almonds Or Oatmeal Once A Week

Exfoliating your skin with either oatmeal or ground almonds will help remove dead skin cells, prevent skin from drying, and prevent sebum in skin cells from getting clogged and breaking out.

Avoid Touching Your Face Throughout The Day

Dirt, oil, and bacteria will spread if you are always touching your face. You should only touch your face when you are moisturizing, applying sunscreen or makeup, and cleansing.
