In this modern world, we are constantly bombarded by electromagnetic frequencies from digital technology, cell phones, and wireless connections. Health issues have been linked to those who were exposed to these invisible frequencies on a regular basis. Since most of us are frequently having or using cell phones in our daily lives, this issue should be a major cause of concern. Luckily, there are ways to help protect yourself against the dangers of cell phone radiation.
The electromagnetic fields (EMFs) emitted by cell phones can have a carcinogenic effect on humans. Though you are not using your cell phone, you’ll still be exposed to them via the cell phones of those people around you. These fields are all around us and exposure to them have uncertain long-term effects. However, studies have found that they have the potential to cause cellular damage in the body. According to pieces of evidence, these frequencies may be linked to conditions, such as migraines, headaches, tinnitus, ADHD, and insomnia.
Here are the ways wherein you can protect yourself or limit your exposure from these electromagnetic fields:
Stop Using A Cell Phone If You Don’t Need To
Cell phones are now considered to be extremely valuable in terms of communication. Yet, you don’t need to use one all the time. You can simply turn it off when your phone is not in use. When your cell phone is turned off, it doesn’t emit any radiation. If you have to keep it turned on, place it on airplane mode whenever you can.
Seek Good Reception
Another good reason to only use your cell phone when you have five bars of reception is that it will use up less power for transmissions, thereby reducing the amount of radiation it emits. Phones work harder to transmit if they have poor reception.
Keep Your Distance
Try to keep a distance from your cell phone when it is not in use. Around 30 to 40 centimeters away from your body should be fine. It will also help you not to strain your eyes. As much as you can, try to go hands-free. Talking on speaker mode or using a wired headset or an earpiece reduces your need to hold your cell phone up to your ear. However, make sure that your earpiece is corded and plugged into your phone and not a Bluetooth or wireless earpiece, which still emit electromagnetic frequencies.
At night, refrain from sleeping with your cell phone right beside you. Place it on airplane mode and keep it on the other side of your bedroom. Women should also avoid keeping their cell phones in their bras.
Reduce EMF Exposure At Home
Make calls on a corded telephone or landline. As much as possible, refrain using wireless connections, like Wi-Fi connections, on computers and appliances that use wireless functionality.
Use An EMF Shielding Device
These devices have holsters and cell phone holders that can block radiation. Be sure to check out the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) value on the product label in order to find a shielding device that blocks the majority of EMFs. SAR value is an indication of the rate at which energy is absorbed by a body exposed to EMFs. There are also radiation-protective devices that you can attach to your phone or wear around your neck.
