The Goodness Of Homemade Spiced Lemongrass Tea

Lemongrass or fevergrass has a fresh, lemony smell and flavor. It is an aromatic herb used in Thai, Malaysian, Indian, and Vietnamese cooking.

It offers several health benefits as it has stimulant, analgesic, diuretic, carminative, antioxidant, antidepressant, inflammatory, antimicrobial, sedative, antispasmodic and anti-cancer properties.
Due to these properties, lemongrass tea can help detoxify the body, aids digestion, treats insomnia, fights infections like cold and flu, relieves nausea, lowers high blood pressure, controls cholesterol levels, lowers uric acid levels, relieves stress, and more.

Furthermore, it can also reduce arthritis pain, and relieve menstrual cramps. Lemongrass tea can induce perspiration and cools the body thus making it a good remedy for reducing fever. However, it is not recommended for pregnant women.

By combining lemongrass with lemon juice, ginger, and spices like cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon, you can enhance its taste and make it even healthier.

Lemon juice boosts immunity, facilitates weight loss, and balances pH levels in the body. Meanwhile, ginger imparts strong flavor and has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

Cinnamon controls blood sugar, thereby making it beneficial for diabetics. Cardamom and cloves aid digestion, promote heart health and beat bad breath. Furthermore, all these spices also boost brainpower and improve circulation.
