DIY Homemade Aloe Vera Gel And Coconut Oil Moisturizer

Aloe vera gel and coconut oil are the perfect combinations for your homemade skin moisturizer. Aside from being excellent for your skin, these ingredients are free from chemicals and inexpensive. They are helpful for problems like psoriasis and eczema.

Aloe vera gel is soothing for your skin. It is rich in vitamins and minerals, especially the antioxidant vitamin E, which induces cell regeneration and rejuvenates the skin. Moreover, aloe vera hydrates the skin and keeps it firm. It can also heal sunburned skin and fade away skin spots.

Coconut oil is packed with antioxidants that help in fighting free radicals and slow skin aging. It penetrates deep into the skin to keep it supple and soft. Its antibacterial and antifungal properties help fight microbial infections.

Homemade Whipped Coconut Oil And Aloe Vera Gel Lotion

This lotion will feel lighter on the skin compared to that of a plain coconut oil. Just whip solid coconut oil with aloe vera gel to use it as a moisturizing lotion.

Things you will need:

Extra-virgin coconut oil
Fresh aloe vera gel
Essential oils of your choice (optional)
A blender
A mixing bowl
An electric or hand whisker
Measuring cups and spoons
A glass container to store it in

Steps:

Scoop out the gel from a small aloe vera leaf and blend it. In a bowl, put ½ cup of extra-virgin coconut oil and then add the blended aloe vera gel. Use an electric or hand whisker to whisk the mixture for 5 to 10 minutes until you achieve a fluffy, frosting-like consistency. Optionally, you can add a few drops of essential oils like peppermint and lavender oil and whisk again.

Apply it all over your body just like other moisturizing lotion. Apply it after bathing when your skin is still moist to help lock in moisture. This moisturizer also works well as a good makeup remover.
