Five Foods That Help Treat The Symptoms Of Vertigo

Vertigo is a feeling of dizziness, where you feel everything around you is spinning. At times, these dizzy spells may get severe, making you feel as though you are physically spinning. Very often, this condition is accompanied by nausea, excessive sweating, etc. Including these foods in your diet will help maintain a healthy balance of fluids to help relieve the symptoms of vertigo.

Almonds

Almonds are rich in vitamins E and B, thereby helping one feel energetic and healthy. Soak a handful of almonds in some water overnight. In the morning, grind these almonds and add to a glass of warm milk. Drinking this every morning on an empty stomach will eventually reduce the symptoms of vertigo.

Gooseberry and Coriander Seeds

Coriander seeds are rich in copper, manganese, iron, magnesium, and calcium, while gooseberry aka Amla is a rich source of vitamin C. Soak one tablespoon each of coriander seeds and amla powder in a glass of drinking water overnight. In the morning, strain and add some raw honey, if required.  Drinking this every morning or during vertigo bouts help get rid of the sudden darkness around the eyes.

Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne contains capsaicin, which helps improve blood flow towards the inner ear and brain, thereby reducing the symptoms of vertigo. Take one teaspoon of cayenne and half a teaspoon of black pepper in a bowl. To this, add a pinch of salt, a tablespoon each of unpasteurized apple cider vinegar and raw honey. Consuming this mixture twice or thrice a day eases blood flow to the brain.

Lemongrass

Lemongrass helps alleviate the symptoms of nausea and dizziness. Brew a cup of herbal tea by adding some crushed pieces of lemongrass. Include lemongrass in your everyday meals. Drinking a cup of lemongrass tea at the onset of the symptoms of vertigo will help provide relief within a few minutes, helping you feel rejuvenated.

Strawberries

Strawberries are a rich source of vitamin C and help ease the sensations that vertigo causes. You can eat three to four fresh strawberries every day. Besides, you can cut and place the berries in a cup of fresh yoghurt overnight and consume it the next day. Yoghurt is rich in magnesium and thus helps treat dizziness.
